Today’s wedding is all about romance and classic elegance – and what could be better in a wedding?  Jen from Egomedia Photography captured Deirdre and Ryan’s indoor wedding in early March right here in downtown Washington, DC.  Deirdre planned the entire affair herself (!), eventually settling on the concept of a duogram combining Deirdre and Ryan’s first initials as the primary inspiration for their classic wedding.

From Deirdre: My vision for our wedding changed the more I researched, read blogs, and bought a ridiculous number of magazines, but when I finally settled on a final vision, it was to have a classic, romantic wedding.  I wanted to have a little bit of a vintage touch and to have a constant theme throughout, which ended up being our monogram.

Our wedding had a strong focus on family.  My stepmother, who is also one of my best friends second wedding dresses second wedding dresses, was my matron of honor.  Our mothers lit a unity candle at the beginning of the ceremony, and my father walked me down the aisle.  My youngest brother and sister were the flower girl and ring bearer.  And my brother and Ryan’s sister were also in the wedding.  Ryan’s grandmother passed away a few years before the wedding; to honor her memory sweep train bridal gowns sweep train bridal gowns, my bouquet was wrapped in two of her handkerchiefs and my something borrowed was Ryan’ weding dresses weding dressess grandmother’s vintage mink wrapped given to Ryan’s sister.

My favorite memory from the day was holding my husband’s hands and saying our vows.   Discount Jewelry Discount JewelryPlanning and executing a wedding is hard work – there are so many details to think about! – but the second I looked into his eyes and said my vows, plus size wedding gowns I felt a wave of calmness and happiness.  It was worth all the worry and nerves and stress of putting together a wedding!

The small details were my favorites.  We worked hard on some DIY special touches.  For our escort cards, we had a calligrapher number and put the names on tags, that we then hung on a frame we made with an antique key.   maternity cocktail dresses ;We then asked guests to offer their advice on the tags and drop them into a glass bowl.  We will have these tags – and their memories and advice – forever!

For the table numbers, to coordinate with the vintage keys, my friend Amy and I stayed up late one night and, using Paper Source blank table tents, we printed, embossed vintage-font numbers and then super glued a vintage-looking keyhole onto it. Keys represent new beginnings and it was a fun way to coordinate between the table numbers and the escort cards – and fun to stay up with a friend doing it all.

We also had a candy bar – it took us a year scouring local flea markets and craft stores to find the perfect combination of new and old bowls and dishes to house our favorite candy.  We hand stamped white bags with our monogram.  That stamp was put to good use – we used it on the escort tags, signage, and the bags!

Get the big stuff out of the way, but do not panic if something falls through.  Our first venue fell through in July but we had put so much work into finding it that we had the research and tools we needed to find a new one.   cheap cocktail dresses under 50 ;Everything works out and something is likely to go wrong, so just go with the flow.  Research, research, research.  Don’t use just one source to find your vendors – and make sure you love them.  We adored our photographer, my hair stylist, and make up artist.  These three people were with me for the better part of my wedding day and I was so lucky to love them and enjoy them so much!  They calmed me down and provided so much perspective.
